OpenAI bans China-linked ChatGPT accounts over surveillance requests
- OpenAI has banned several ChatGPT accounts linked to suspected Chinese government entities after users sought help designing social media surveillance tools, in violation of its national security policy. The company’s latest threat report also revealed bans on Chinese-language accounts involved in phishing and malware campaigns, as well as on Russian-speaking groups using ChatGPT to aid cyberattacks.
